A Destination Wedding in Fasano: the Ceremony of Eugenio and Daniuska

A destination wedding in Fasano to remember!

Here at Apulia Weddings we take care of many ceremonies of foreing couples, but this particular destination wedding in Fasano has touched our hearts for many reasons! Eugenio and Daniuska’s wedding  was a real out-of-the-ordinary event and we couldn’t not to talk about it!

Are you curious? Great, let’s start from the very beginning!

 How everything started

It’s September 2015 and we received a very peculiar request from Eugenio, a wedding photographer living and working in Florida: he was about to come to Apulia at the end of October to take part to an important photography workshop, together with his fiancée, Daniuska. He had just had the most amazing idea: to propose during the workshop and then to have a surprise (for Daniuska) wedding ceremony!

But to turn such a secret plan into reality he absolutely needed some allies: his great friend Juan Botero, who would bring in his luggage all the dresses and accessories for the bride and groom (including two – TWO! – bridal gowns so that Daniuska could be able to choose the one she liked most), and who also would be the groom’s best man and – of course – one of the photographers!

Another ally was Gianluca Adovasio, the photographer who each year organises this international photography workshop in Apulia and who would be the onsite contact together with Giuliano, the manager of the venue.

A final element was missing: the necessary help to plan a beautiful and very personal wedding ceremony and to provide the final touches to this amazing project. And here we came into action! We divided our tasks: Claudia took care of the planning aspects and asked Chiara to be the celebrant with the help of the assistant Valeria.

The wedding venue

The choice of the venue was natural: it was the one where the workshop was already taking place… but the bride and groom could not hope for a better place! Masseria Montenapoleone is one of the most beautiful masserie in Apulia, with amazing rooms which seems to be carved in the rocks, an enchanting winter garden, and, in particular, a fairy-tale setting with a sort of little cavern that was a perfect background for the ceremony (and an amazing setting for the photos afterwards!) surrounded by benches made with boards put on straw bales.

The bride and groom

Eugenio had chosen the orange as the colour for him and Daniuska: orange for his pocket square and buttonhole, orange for Dani’s shoes, bouquet and floral crown… another detail: orange was also the colour of the wrist bands that all the workshop participants had been given… and the spouses wore them even during the ceremony!!!

The symbolic ceremony

Eugenio opted for a symbolic ceremony because it would have been impossible to plan a civil rite without the bride knowing anything!

But the beautiful ceremony text that Claudia created for them and that summarized their whole story and their wonderful relationship, together with the romantic, humorous wedding vows that Eugenio had thought of, created a wonderful atmosphere, full of love and emotions! The happiness of the spouses was tangible, they were incredibly cute and tender!

For the symbolic rite, Eugenio chose the tree planting rite: we prepared for them a little plant of sage, which is a symbol of  life, of immortality, and we thought it was a beautiful way to wish them eternal love.

Unfortunately Eugenio and Daniuska’s families could not be there but their presence was somehow felt, thanks to some letters (and one of them was a surprise to Eugenio too!) from their relatives which were read during the ceremony: what a moving moment!!!

The guests

It is rather unusual to talk about the guests, I know, but this time they deserve some attention, because of their peculiarity: they were all wedding photographers!!! Yes, all the participants of the workshop were present at the ceremony and many of them took photos, of course!

I think I’ve never seen so many photographers altogether in the same wedding!

Photos continued even after the ceremony, as a wonderful baroque floral setting had been created inside the little cavern by the florist Amsicora.

The bride and groom were also photographed in the marvellous setting of the Apulian countryside at sunset: such breath-taking views!
