Great ceremony backdrops inspirations for your wedding

Great ceremony backdrops inspirations for your wedding

In every wedding ceremony there is a focus point, the point where all the eyes will be fixed on, the place where the rite takes place and the couple gets married… that’s why this point  must be decorated in a very accurate way! This is even more important for a symbolic ceremony, that often is performed in a place that is not usually used for celebrations, and that therefore requires more preparation to create a unique setting.

The internet in general, and Pinterest in particular, are a great source for inspiration: as there is no limit to imagination and every couple chooses what most reflects their tastes, it is possible to find dozens and dozens of photos of ceremony backdrops for every kind of wedding: indoor and outdoor, in the morning or in the evening, in summer or in winter!

Here I have summarized the result of my web search, to show you my favourite categories! 🙂

CURTAINS AND DRAPES

The most used are long, white curtains, hanging from trees or arches or from the ceiling, tied in an artistic way or free to flow with the breeze, enriched by green branches, flowers, lanterns and any other ornament. But if your wedding theme has a particular graphic element (stripes, chevron, polka dots, and so), use drapes with the same element and it will need no other decorations!

THE SECOND LIFE OF WINDOW FIXTURES

To reuse old doors, window frames, shutters and wooden panels as backdrops is a wonderful idea: their old, shabby look helps to create a romantic atmosphere and the contrast with fresh flowers emphasizes this aspect. Doors and windows can also be considered as a symbol of the passage of the couple to their married status, their entering into a new life together.

TOTAL FLORAL

If you love flowers and want them to be a central element of your wedding décor, they will be perfect with every style, the important is choosing the right flowers: in light, pastel colours to decorate a romantic arch, in bright tones for a more dramatic effect, paper flowers in different sizes for an original, out-of-the-ordinary ceremony!

TURN ON THE LIGHTS

If the ceremony is in the evening, lights can’t be missing! Lanterns and candles hung to a tree in a beautiful garden, or elegantly arranged on the floor of the ceremony hall… and what about a whole “wall” of little lights coming down from the ceiling as a luminous cascade?

WORDS OF LOVE

Lettering decoration is a great trend for weddings: words and sentences written in artistic fonts, even of big dimensions, give a very original touch to all the stationary elements (invitations, menus and so on), but also to the ceremony backdrop! A panel of wood, fabric or paper with your favourite love quotes or even with the personal vows you will exchange during the ceremony is incredibly romantic! Worthy of note: the panel with the chalkboard decor, which is another wonderful trend!
